Soul
Magic – By Ginny J. of
THE UNEXPECTED
Peace to all of you. I love the term "soul graduation" and have used it often in my palliative care work, hearing back "what a nice way of seeing a death."
This past weekend I spoke to a group of church women around
spiritual care — not just with the elderly or those in long-term care, but
spiritual care to all of us spiritual beings.
It was my first time to speak in public like this and God
truly was with me. He put me in the same
room where I have spent 7 years doing my women's bible study with 12 fabulous
women of all shapes, sizes, ages and spirits! We
There happened to be a woman from another part of the province there who looked familiar but I could not decide why. She had such a lovely big smile... there was very warm energy coming from her.
After sharing for an hour and a half, several women came up to thank me. That’s when the lady with the beautiful smile walked towards me. As soon as she got closer I knew I knew her but didn't know where from.
Well, I had journeyed last summer with she, her children and her husband as he was very, very sick in the hospital where I was doing my clinical pastoral (spiritual) care coursework. WOW! What a small world.
Her husband was a very sick man and actually died in hospital. I journeyed with them the very day he died but not at the actual time of death as I had my classes to attend.
It was a lovely reunion and I still cannot get over her
huge, warm smile as she sat listening to me share on spiritual care and
palliative care… How it looks, why it is important, along with some stories of
my own that speak to the fact we can help ourselves and others learn to die
well while we still live well!
May all of you feel the Angels surrounding you at this time
as they help lighten your load, and join many around the globe holding you in
their hearts.
Hugs of Healing,
