MUSIC AND SCENERY TO ENHANCE MY JOURNEY

Sitting on the balcony outside our cabin aboard the Carnival Cruise Ship, The Miracle, docked in St. Kitts, I was completely absorbed in the spectacular scenery for what seemed to be an eternity.  I couldn’t stop looking at it.   It was just so gorgeous.  I felt that I needed to write down my feelings because of what was flowing through my mind and body at that time, so that is what I did, which is what follows here.

We had just returned from our self-guided walking tour on the island and I was sitting in the deck chair, relaxing, getting ready to listen to music on my Ipod.  The mountains on this island were such a contrast to the Caribbean blue waters, with an occasional sailboat that added a white dash of color amid the tranquil blue sea.  As I turned on my Ipod the first song that played was “Second Chance” by Trisha Yearwood.  The lyrics fit my life to a tee. What a surprising start to this Soul Magic moment.  (See Soul Magic October 9, 2007, for my “Second Chance” story of love)  The next songs that randomly played were “The Dance” by Garth Brooks, followed by “I Believe I Can Fly” by R. Kelly.  These songs are on my Ipod because of the type of music I enjoy; which is uplifting, encouraging, positive, meaningful lyrics that I love to listen to. Of course, they are mingled in with my favorite 70’s rock tunes also.  This is the third cruise that Dave and I have been on together in the three short years we have known each other after having detached from long marriages and setting out to find new adventures on our respective paths.  Thankfully, we both enjoy cruising. There is no driving, no trying to find a place to eat, a place to stay or entertainment ideas, as these choices are always plentiful when cruising, not to mention being waited on day and night, and no cooking or cleaning!

As I sat enthralled in this tranquil moment, I knew that all was well in my world and my life is truly on a path of happiness, fulfillment and love.  I am fortunate to have the opportunity to have met someone special that shares many of the same wants and desires that I do at this later stage of our lives.  Everything is coming together like a puzzle, as the pieces are starting to fit and my future looks extremely positive and fulfilling.

As I finished writing down my thoughts, the last song that played was “What a Wonderful World”, sung by Michael Buble.  No song could have been more appropriate.  I had to wonder, as I chuckled at the timing of the songs that played, if there was a higher power orchestrating this symphony of music and scenery that I was experiencing, letting me know that all is well in my world.   Yes, I am sure there was!  This was Soul Magic for sure.   Just Believe . . .  I do.
