Soul Magic

Mesmerized At 35,000 Feet
by Patty

On a recent plane ride from New York home to Chicago I had a spectacular view of nature’s watercolors in all its glory.

I had brought a book to read but could not take my eyes off the window almost the entire trip home.  It was about 6:00 p.m. and the sun was setting on this mid-October day.  I was lucky enough to be seated on the side of the plane where I could experience this wonderment.

Maybe it wasn’t lucky?  I know I was meant to see this to wrap up the wonderful weekend I had just enjoyed.   And boy, it wrapped up in such a beautiful package!

These are the words that I wrote as I was enjoyed this spectacle:

-     fire in the sky

-     this must be what Mars looks like!

-     orange swirls

-     red-orange smoky mist

-     out of this world

-     reflections of autumn

-     volcanic colors

I have seen sunsets from planes before, but nothing like this.  In one of the pictures here, the clouds formed what I called a shelf, and hung down in such an unusual pattern it was truly incredible.  I really did feel that I was hovering over the surface of the planet Mars in a smooth glide while my whole being felt at peace and my eyes took in the beauty in front of me.

It took my breath away and reinforced once again what glorious sights are all around us, if we just take the time to notice and at the same time appreciate them.   Let it sink in and bring peace to your day. Take a moment to savor the experience and let it make you smile.  You’ll feel better.

The Universe treated me to something special, and I feel very special to have been picked!
